Joshua Maize, native of Kansas City, Missouri, is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Choral Conducting at the Conservatory of Music and Dance at UMKC. At UMKC he studies conducting under Robert Bode. He holds degrees from the University of Kansas (M.M. – Musicology and Church Music) and UMKC (B.M.E. – Music Education).

Josh is an active vocalist, organist, and choral conductor. This is his fourth season with Kansas City based sacred choral ensemble, Te Deum Chamber Choir and second season with Te Deum Antiqua, where he serves as Artistic Associate and vocalist. He has been a member of a number of ensembles including Simon Carrington Chamber Singers, Norfolk Chamber Choir, Spire Chamber Ensemble, and KC Collegium Vocale. He has served as Choral Scholar for Grace Episcopal Cathedral and Choral Intern for Village Presbyterian Church. Josh is a recipient of the Ellen Battell Stoeckel Vocal Fellowship from Yale University and is an Adjunct Instructor in the Music Education and Therapy Division at UMKC.
